And this is a great example of why, if you want to succeed at anything in life, you have to learn to ignore the buzzing mass of voices that launch at you with negativity and confusion no matter what you do.

This kid won EIGHT GOLD MEDALS, the most medals won ever at once in a single Olympic game. He set world records in each event. And the comment threads tear him apart for

1) looking like a “commie” (its all the red, its all the GOLD MEDAL STRAPS from Beijing) 2) Usual homophobic comments cuz…what? He has no hair? HE IS A SWIMMER, PENDEJOS. Not that all of us are bushy outback dudes, so come on. 3) That the gold medals (arranged to emulate the original record breaker’s foto, Mark Spitz) look like some kind of “Roman Halter top” or something. Also, 4) that we have to “almost see his pubes.”

This, my friends (and one of these insults is from a Huffpost blogger!!) is THE RABBLE.

APPARENTLY it’s a screencap from his “Self Portrait” which is a film which gradually shows his erection forming (I KNOW, RIGHT?).

Also an important tidbit of information: Ringo and Maureen were present for the filming of this. CAN YOU IMAGINE, OMG TOO FUNNY.

Well, those are definitely John Lennon’s testicles.

I’d heard that Self Portrait was a close up of his penis, rather than a full body shot. But of course I’ve never seen it (apparently very few people have). So I doubt that part, though the picture may have been taken during/before/after the filming. I can see Ringo an Maureen being present … though I’m not quite sure why.

I know. Ringo talks about it in his postcard book, that’s where I found out about it and I instantly bought the book just for the story alone.

Ahhhh, I got that book for my birthday but haven’t gotten to reading it yet! It just got bumped up a few slots on the list :)
